It is property of solution which depends on number of solute particle and amount of particles. Not depends on nature of particles. 

There are four collegative property:-

• Relative lowering of vapour pressure 
• Elevation in boiling point 
• Depression in freezing point
•  Osmotic pressure. 

first we are going to discus first collegative property 

☆ Relative lowering of vapour pressure. 

Some related terms 

Vapour pressure : 

pressure developed by vapour of a liquid when liquid and vapour are in position of equilibrium is called equilibrium vapour pressure or saturated vapour pressure or vapour pressure. 

Various factors which are affect Vapour pressure of solution.

Inter molecular force -

Inter molecular force is inversely proportional to vapour pressure of liquid .if intermolecular force increases which opposed increases in vapour pressure. 

Temperature-

Temperature is directly proportional to vapour pressure .It means if temperatures increase of solution vapour pressure will also increase . when temperature increases then intermolecular forces will decrease resulting more formation vapour. which couses increase in vapour pressure .

Surface area of solution - vapour pressure does not depends upon surface area of solution.
Addison of volatile solute.
